another umemployment map

Unemployment-rate-september-2010
this is a very interesting map that i came across.  its from 2010 so more recent.  it takes the map that i did for lap one a step further in that it breaks down the states as well.  you can still see generally how the states are as a whole.  but breaking down the states to there counties is really telling.   the still very few unployment ares in the middle of the country.  which will have to do with relative lower populations in those areas

LAB 1 (Static Map)

Unemployment
Unemployment is something that means alot to me as i am currently trying to find a job,  this is using data from 2006 and i was surprised somewhat to learn the the north/northwest states have relative low rates where the industrial center states around kentucky, michigan and illinois are higher.  over all u can see a mostly eastern trend of higher rates.  on a side note virgina is one of the lower states.  biggest trouble that i had was deciding where to have the cut line for each class cause several states had the same rate.  no real issues came up while making the map

A weather map found on CNN

this is a map i found while browsing cnn,  its a simple map of the united states showing the days tempetures.  they will be the high tempuratures for the day.  the color scheme used is a standard scheme used for temperature.   in the north it uses shades of blue and that will generally mean cold,  then as ya move south the color changes to green, which is more moderate.  in the south ya start getting yellows which is more warm.
